Chesterfield Mobile Home Park

CMHP

Chesterfield Mobile Home Park was established before the city of Chesterfield Missouri was incorporated and provides the city’s only low income housing.  In 2017 the owners accepted an offer to sell to a developer wishing to build market rate apartments.  SJ4A team members joined many others to oppose the rezoning request and it was denied by the city’s planning commission.

However, it remains for sale and we are seeking to find a way to purchase the land on behalf of the residents, many of whom are disabled, elderly and low wage workers in area restaurants and shops. There are 123 children from the park in Rockwood Schools.

We have identified 3 possible routes to “resident ownership” and are seeking help for funding, planning and other ways to improve the housing to meet resident and community need.  Ascension Parish St Vincent de Paul and St. Timothy Episcopal Church has also been active in park improvement.
